I enjoyed the story and the depiction of the martial arts. I would have enjoyed more description of the places, and more characterization. Perhaps deeper interactions between characters would lend more credibility to rivalries and friendships. But very enjoyable overall.
The reader was adequate, but made the entire story feel lighthearted or very matter of fact, even when the character was fighting for their life.
