This was a book I started to read in print and never finished. But being an audiobook that required less attention allowed me to get farther into it until I got invested in the story.
Despite being a contract killer, the MC is likeable. It’s predictable in some ways, but in ways I like. It’s just emotional enough to make the characters real.
Narrator is tough to grade. A bit too sleepy and monotone for this type of book. But I like his voice, it’s soothing. So I turned this into a bedtime story— an effective compromise.
If you listened with faster playback it might help that.
My one concern for this series is that if you read the synopsis for each book, they all sound like the same book- same unresolved storyline – he “declares war on the underworld, those that betrayed him, they will regret it”
So we will see
