Starts at a snail pace. After that you get to learn about Cultivating at a snails pace. Thankfully what this book starts to add to the world and the hope of where these characters will go was enough to get through the book. I do enjoy the narration as well, though I started listening to the book at 1.5 speed to get somewhere worthwhile.
