I seem to read series in the wrong order so again I am circling back to an author’s original series. I can see where this trend of puns, generic names, and pop culture references came from in his DCO series.
Ryan is a dungeon core and needs to learn his abilities, the beginning of the book is standard “learn to be a dungeon” but pickups about halfway through as we get to see more into the party’s personality and see some of the meta plot evolve.
I definitely picked up some Divine Dungeon vibes from this book but that’s not a bad thing. My only real criticism is that Soundbooth Theater probably went a little too far with the “spooky” soundtrack in parts and could have reeled that in for better effect. Oh and I had to speed up the narrator a bit, I normally listen at 1.5x and had to speed it up to 1.75x
I already downloaded and started listening to book 2, that’s probably the only endorsement you need right? LEEEEEROY!!!
