Better than I expected it would be starting out. At the beginning, I always had the thought in the back of my mind that at the end of the day, there aren’t really any real world consequences here. I figured, “If he fails, so what? He goes back to being a rich dude. And man, that talking axe is annoying and actually less than helpful.” But I stuck with it and you know what? It’s worth it. You eventually get sucked in to the MC’s hopes and dreams and you start rooting for him to succeed. He’s a likeable character and even the axe gets less annoying. I’ll be getting the second book when it’s out.
