I enjoyed this story and it had me curious how much of it was pulled from real life. It definitely had the feel of having the possibility of being a true story, hopefully aside from the Skipper’s part. While I’m sure some of that came from life experiences, I would hope no one is that one combined person. The guy was so moronic, it made it very cringey at moments. Even my own life’s “skipper” had some redeeming qualities, but this guy seemed to have none. I did feel the close of the story helped the above mild complaint make sense and put it in perspective. Overall I thought the story was well paced and filled with details that made me feel I was a long for the ride.
