This book is different than most LitRPG. It lacks the intensity, violence and horror of most in the genre and focuses on character development.

The results are quite enjoyable and the characters are all likable with distinguished personalities. It is very well done for what the author intended.

I’d give 5 stars but compared to the best LitRPG series, and I’ve read just about all of them, it doesn’t quite match them, plus the last few hours have a little bit too much telling instead of showing.

The MC is provided with some outside help(he’s the son of the games creator, but doesn’t abuse his advantages.

There is some great village and kingdom relationship building, and even the NPCs have some interesting personalities. Some of the characters and plot lines are a bit cliche(dwarf smithy, elf ranger, etc) but it doesn’t take away from the story.

Those looking for a more lighthearted series will give this a five star rating. It is definitely worth a credit if you like LitRPG. This is an easy, fun and enjoyable listen.
