I’ll admit, the twist–the mystery of Lark–was dang good! It was also the one possibility I hadn’t thought of, but made so much sense after the reveal.
And the conspiracy Lark uncovered was another nice twist, if a bit horrifying in its nature. The final book had quite a few surprises and the ending was satisfying if only because it truly gave a sense of closure for Lark as well as the reader.
I did really end up liking the series even though it did get confusing at times. But I think that’s because we’re only given bits and pieces of answers of what had happened as the series flips between past and present, and Raven and Lila. The more that gets revealed, the more sense things that didn’t before, start to. There was a method to that madness, it just took awhile to see it and get accustomed to it. I also thought the narrator was fantastic for the series; I’d definitely recommend to anyone who loves a good mystery!
