But after my effusive review of the first book, I can’t say that the second one quite lives up to the promise I saw. Don’t get me wrong, this is a totally entertaining and adequate sequel. Each part of the storyline is fleshed out and interesting. This novel just lacks the cohesion that pulled all the separated stories and plot lines together, which I think is what made the first book such a standout.
I enjoyed this book and I will be continuing the series… just with my fingers crossed that D. Willmarth hits his stride again and nails the third book the same way he did the first.
