This is an X-men sort of harem tale with a mediocre main narrator surrounded by an excellent but underused supporting cast of narrators. The story was delivered in a somewhat vague manner in regards to WHY the girls latched onto this guy. There simply isn’t a reason why they kept just showing up on his doorstep, although I suspect the author may be saving that explanation for possibly the next book. Despite all of this, the lackluster story could have been saved if not for the poor main narrator who sounded bored the entire time. The other narrators did a wonderful job and anyone who has heard their other work shouldn’t be surprised. All-in-all the concept for the story is intriguing and creative so my hope is that the author comes back with a new main narrator and develops a more complex storyline in the next book. It’s not terrible, but it just didn’t live up to its potential.
