I could bail on Felix, honestly. it looks like, by summaries of Arand’s other works, that he specializes in “generic early middle aged nebbish with chip on his shoulder” protagonists.
Ioana’s conversations with Felix are pretty cringeworthy.
Andrea’s PANCAKES! are a forced meme, but pretty solid. She’s the one truly infectious character & catries much of the book by being entertaining, without wearing out her welcome, which is a rarity in a character like her.
Honestly the performance by the narrator holds up the rest of the work. Everyone has a distinct voice, and audio after effects help sell inner monologue, simultaneous voices and radio comms.
