Maybe it’s because I didn’t slide into this book straight after finishing books 1 and 2, but it was like BAM intense obsession, possession and combustable sexual need from the start as Alexius and Leandra fight and flip and f’k after the cliffhanger ending previously left a devastated Leandra. And I thought ok.. ok hold on through their toxic explosions.. however, there was a lot of rinse and repeat and angry sex from the unapologetic dirty-talking alpha Sovereign Son and his “how could you” hurt and devastated wife. For me, I would’ve also liked the ‘wet’, ‘dripping’ and ‘swollen’ descriptions to of been toned down a bit coz I don’t want the mental visuals. And I could’ve done without the very descriptive vibrator sex scene at the end set up by Alexius but between Leandra and another woman.. this was an unnecessary no thanks for me. However, the dual POV narration was great and Michael really brought out Alexius’ deranged, obsessive, possessive, dark, twisted, on the brink character perfectly. Heated sex scenes, emotional tugs and pulls and some suspense, thrills and drama in there too.
Worth a credit? I think I would’ve definitely enjoyed this more if I’d back-to-back listed to the whole trilogy because unfortunately it’s the least favorite out of the three books for me. Nevertheless, if you’ve loved the previous two, then yes it ends their struggled relationship with a calm happy ever after. This is just my opinion though.. you may love it.
