Good book. Just too much crying

I like the premise of the book. Good narration. Okay plot progression.
Seams like the author tried to get the listeners to get emotionally immersed in the story by making the MC emotionally weak.
All the crying made my assume the MC was a teen going through puberty or someone in there 20’s turns out he’s in his later years. Someone too old to be crying at everything.
