I like the premise of this series. Putting the same characters in a different disaster situation allows the author to bother explore the characters as well as the different facets of disaster.
This particular event is particularly relevant as many fires rage in both California and Oregon as I write this. None of the characters in the book are prepared for the fires through both lack of situational awareness and denial.
The variety of characters go through different levels of disaster depending on their proximity to the fire and location. Overall the book portrays well the reactions and consequences of a localized disaster, and is a good reminder that a disaster can happen to a world, country, state, city or just you.
Kevin Pierce continues to provide a solid voice to this series, and his narration is on target.
I was given this free audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
