This was book 3 in “The Protectors” series. Ex Special Forces soldier Michael “Hawke” Hawkins has spent every day of the last ten years waiting for the moment he can to kill the men who killed his wife and unborn baby and Tate Travers is the key. Tate Travers has been on the run for two years with his little boy Mattie turns out he is on the run from his brother and his father. When Hawke pulls a gun on them Tate tells him that he has the wrong brother and he doesn’t know where they are. When he leaves Tate runs again when he takes Mattie to the doctor he finds out that his son has leukemia he doesn’t know what he’s going to do he doesn’t have the money to pay for treatment until Hawke shows up and pays for it they make a deal he will pay for the treatment if Tate agrees to help him. Hawke has been living for the day to make the men that killed his wife and baby and nothing else along with Ronan he rids the world of criminals who get away with some of the worse crimes known to men. Hawke is straight but he can’t explain the feeling he gets when he looks at Tate. This was a really good book Tate just wanted to be loved but Hawke doesn’t know how to let his wife go he hasn’t been with anyone in ten years as Mattie begins treatment with the help of Ronan and Seth they leave and go to Tate’s hometown. They don’t find Buck or Denny. When they have sex it is rough and lacking lube which I didn’t like because Hawke almost rapes Tate and Tate is willing to take it because he needs someone and so does Tate. This was a really good read Hawke will do anything to protect Tate and Mattie. The sex scenes are hot. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
