First a note. I have COVID as I was listening to this book, so I might have to listen again when my brain fog is gone, but I feel very much like I did with book 3 and 4. The story isn’t engaging enough, the challenges are weak, the humor is trite and repetitive, and the characters aren’t developing as well as I’d like. The narration is nearly perfect, but (and it may be my brain fog speaking) the sound effects were a bit overdone and annoying in this book. The narrator was excellent. It’s a shame because it looks like there is just one book left and I have no want to listen to it. If I listen to it later and find that my brain fog twisted my perspective, I’ll update the review. I will say that book 1 and 2 were excellent, but the author seems to have stalled and just wasn’t able to elevate the story as book 3, 4, & 5 were released.
