The first book was good, but I initially did not like the main character at all. He did grow on me though and each book got better and I got more hooked, needing to hear how their perilous adventures turned out. Four stars due to pervasive profanity throughout, which did nothing to enhance the story. I would have given it five stars without the needless swearing.
