Get This Book!

First, I’d like to mention that I got this book free through my Audible subscription so no Audible credits or money was spent directly on this book.

This book starts a bit slow but pretty much only for the introduction of characters. Beyond that it turns into a rollercoaster of a story and one that I loved very much. I had downloaded the next book at about half way through this one and every other book in the series shortly after. This also includes the current last book in the series that was not part of the Audible subscription. I did not have an Audible credit to spend at the end of the eighth book but I couldn’t wait so I just outright purchased it. The craziest thing about it though is that the books in this series only get better in my opinion. From book one to nine I couldn’t stop listening to this series. For most this may seem to be a bit of a setup book for the rest of the series but instead of dragging on and setting up the entire book like many series start this setup was awesome and interesting the whole time. The only honest negative that I could come up with was that the initial parts with Suriel confused me. I felt like I had jumped genres and at first had me thinking that my phone had skipped to another book.

I’d also like to mention the narrator, Travis Baldree. He has done an amazing job with these characters and so many more. I don’t know if this series could be properly enjoyed without his voice acting. Even if it wasn’t specifically mentioned who was speaking I always knew who was because he had a voice for everyone that became memorable to me. That’s not just this book either, so far he has done every other in the series and with the plethora of characters he has still managed to keep every one of them distinct.

I know this is more like a review for the series itself rather than this singular book but, as this will probably be my only written review for the series I wanted to make it here. Book nine is the last book out in the series as of this current moment and I cannot wait until the next one drops. Start this journey with Wei Shi Lendon and you won’t be disappointed.
