This is the refreshing, short story of Millie and Cade. They have known each other since kindergarten, and now are rival journalists. The two end up in a hot air balloon trying to scoop a story with a known terrorist and end up being “blown away”. Elise Sax’s sense of humor is infectious, it’s so easy to get caught up in the banter between Millie and Cade, and to see their true feelings. With Millie carrying a secret with her that will change their lives, their obvious love for each other and their impending doom, this book flies by with smiles and laughs.
Angie Hickman is the perfect narrator for this story. She has a lilt in her voice that gives the perfect inflections for the book, finding the humor in all the right places. I love her pace and voices and enjoyed her performance.
