First, the performances were wonderful, especially Andi Arndt’s. Her voice for Henry was perfect. The book is well written & some of the scenes are very funny.
But – the main character did not grow up at all. Everyone constantly made allowances for her ridiculous behavior when they shouldn’t have. I agree with other reviews that nobody would be that ignorant after graduating college & having had 2 sexually active roommates. Her distrust of Henry wasn’t just insecurity, it was borderline pathological. His behavior was mature and/or age-appropriate; hers was iffy for a 14 year old. And parenting? Oh no, no, no.
Too bad – the best-friends-to-lovers theme is evergreen & this had interesting possibilities.
