I listened to all 5 of these books over the last couple of months. The characters have their foibles, and they’re not always believable, but overall you do come to care about them, in particular Alexander and Jewels.
Which is why I found the ending incredibly abrupt and disappointing. The main villain is defeated, everyone agrees to join the charity work…. the end.

All this build-up of Alexander and Jewels’ relationship, and you don’t even have a formal proposal or a wedding? That’s all the wrap up we get? Nothing about how Io Online recovers from the big war? C’mon! If it weren’t for the ending I would have given this 4 stars for the story. The overall rating is 4 stars because I greatly enjoyed the narration and the overall story, but the ending was so disappointing it got knocked down to 3 stars
