Conceptually, you can think of this as Firefly with wizards, but it’s by no means a clone. Admittedly, it’s tough not to think of Carl as Mal and the Moebius as the Serenity, but the stories are their own. It’s a long audiobook, but the stories are generally interesting, with things never quite working out perfectly. I want to hear more about these characters even after 80+ hours.
The narrator is incredible. There are distinct voices for each character and even when fathers and sons have similar voices, it’s clear which one is talking. Each voice matches the personality of the character perfectly without feeling forced. Mikael Naramore has done an amazing job here.
Overall, this is a great way to spend a credit.
