This was a real fun listen! It’s a bit on the shorter side but sometimes that’s a plus. The story does have a satisfying conclusion (if maybe a bit far-fetched, it’s more enjoyable to if you just don’t think too deeply about it).
I felt like some of the character interaction was a bit off and it was a bit hard to believe that with impending disaster the father would not take more drastic measures to locate his daughter sooner (though maybe that was part of his character flaw? Now that I think about it, perhaps!). Minor gripes aside, I really enjoyed listening to this book and feel like it would be an extremely interesting story to follow-up on.
Narration by Kevin Pierce was excellent and a pleasant listen. I swear I’ve listened to other books narrated by him (couldn’t find any that were in my library) but maybe he just has one of those voices!
I would definitely recommend this for a casual listen and am definitely going to be keeping an eye out for more works by Jack Hunt and narrations by Kevin Pierce.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
