Every conversation in this book feels so trite. It’s written like a DM’s first D&D campaign – a ridiculous amount of exposition, people having knowledge in the most convenient way possible, every conflict happening immediately followed by “that’s impossible!” followed by immediately figuring it out.

Even despite all of that, it would still be tolerable if not for the main character being written as the most intentionally obnoxious, overdramatic, know-it-all, over explaining, roundabout speaking, fake feeling personality and every bit of dialogue between her and anyone else being painfully cringeworthy.

The only times this book becomes moderately enjoyable is during the few intermissions that have nothing to do with the MC.
