this title was really fun. I enjoyed it a lot and I want to get that out there before I talk about the cons.
absolutely nothing in this book was original. everything was taken almost directly from other litrpg books. mostly Divine dungeon but Dungeon Lord had a “hand” in it, as well as a few others. the relationship between core and fairy was also a bit cringe worthy.
as for the jokes, puns, and idioms. I would not be surprised if the author just did a Google search for the most popular memes the year he wrote this and threw them all in piecemeal.
all that being said, the book was a joy to listen too. the characters were fun if a little two dimensional. the level system was well implemented and the magic system made sense. also the fact that the folks over at Sound Booth Theatre did the narration the performance was outstanding. the book may not have had many original ideas but the borrowed bits fit together into a very nice story. and I will most likely be picking up the next book.
