This is my very first Jamie Hawke book. Why did I wait until now? This was a wild ride I am going to tell you right off the bat. It was a full throttle thrill ride from start to finish. A lot of folks will miss out due to the graphic harem stuff and that’s ok. I understand there are some very risqué sections no doubt.
The book has a really fun superhero/scifi vibe. The MC is a bounty hunter who catches “nutjobs” or who he thinks are nutjobs and puts them away. As the story progresses he finds out that may not be the case and he may be on the wrong side of the equation. The audio book is full of action and humor. I liked all the characters from the main character to all the harem girls. I have not read any of his other books yet, but I am familiar with their covers and names. There are some crossover characters from another one of his novels. I won’t spoil who it is, but I like it when authors create a fluid universe that includes other characters from other books. Harmon Cooper does a good job with his Proxima universe.
Jamie does a good job in the note section of his author summary listing the stuff you are in for. If you read that section and still read the book and get your panties in a wad, that is all your fault. Even Soundbooth calls themselves Soundbooth Burlesque. Here this is the first time I have noticed this tag.
Soundbooth is freaking amazing like always. I have yet to listen to an audiobook that they haven’t completely slayed. They make fun stories even better. Jeff Hays carries the majority of the narration, but the other soundbooth folks compliment him very nicely.
