MC is really disappointing. I am not feeling he is making enough progress and the story is just one catastrophe after another for him and his team. I have to skip through sections because of the inner dialog you have to slog through before he makes a decision that was obvious from the start. If the author has to have the MC put points into the int stat to spare us the pages and pages of inner dialog , for the love of God, DO IT so combat and scenes can flow better and be less frustrating. Jeff Hayes does a good job as usual, the negatives are all about the writing…
