Padraig “Paddy” Collins and Emmy have been a simmering pot for a couple of years. I have to admit to liking the straw that breaks the camel’s back, pushing him to man up. And how he jumps in fast and strong is hot, but it’s perhaps tempting fate just a tad too much.

From an intimacy standpoint, I kind of like how they go from zero to sixty in the blink of an eye. Then there are the fantasies and kinks that start making an appearance almost immediately. Love it!

I wasn’t thrilled with his overreaction to some news, or how Emmy let it slide so effortlessly. The rest of the story was fantastic, even when tugging at my heartstrings.

No doubt that there’s heartbreak between these pages, but I think it’s more bittersweet than sad. As terrible as the passing of Mia was, Padraig found an equally good woman and a second chance at love and his dreams.

I love how the patriarch, Patrick “Pop Pop” Collins, is at or near the heart of each book in the series that I’ve read so far. (I haven’t read them all, but I can’t imagine him not being a strong secondary character. Yes, that sentence grammatically sucks with all the negatives, but I don’t care.) He’s like the glue that keeps them together but also the oil that encourages them to be a well oiled machine.

I received an author’s copy of the audio book. The narrators are Lee Daniels and Connor Brown. I whole heartedly enjoyed listening to them.
