Charles does a really good job writing a story about dark heroes and can make a really good villian but I found the side character dynamic and growth in this story to be lacking and the end comes to abruptly, but with i guess this can be explained with the authors notes…((spoiler) note for author_ the way nick is treated in this book is fd. everyone treats him like crap and manipulates him and then treats him even crappier when hes not apologetic about getting mad for being treated like crap. I originally thought the situation with nick was going to lead to a growth in both his character and the MC but it has no influence on MC and just leads to nick being more submissive.)
