First time I did not agree with ratings “NOPE”

I usually read rating of books prior to purchasing, this is the first time I did not agree with the ratings. (Spoilers): Major mafia leader of the US and he didn’t pickup he was being tracked? His men were soooooooo stupid they grabbed the wrong man, really! She was just plain nuts, sorry I couldn’t get with the mommie leaving story, and the ex-husband causing her to be self destructive? Just none of it made since. He just wasn’t smart enough for me, this is not my first dark mafia romance and it just didn’t measure up!!!! I was looking for a good dark mafia romance series but this ain’t it.
