It’s a template for how to reverse climate change and build a sustainable global society, wrapped in an uninteresting story. Could be because the true villain is nature, so all the other villains (intractable humans) become two dimensional caricatures. If you’ve ever read Atlas Shrugged, then you have read this book, but from the side valorizing greed and selfishness. This has the same straw man twenty page speeches and lectures. It’s the kind of book that once you’ve finished it you realize you’ve already forgotten 80% of the plot. If you haven’t read KSM before, just start with Red Mars. That’s a triumph.
