I love, love, love everything about this book. I love that both Mags and Laurie are a little bit older than your normal main characters, well established in their careers, and satisfied with the family they have created (both found and biological). There is something so rewarding seeing two characters fall in love so deeply and completely when a partner is not something they need to survive but truly just something that they want. There was such magic between Laurie and Mags (and you can’t forget Endof!) and it was so satisfying to see both men grow and evolve into more well-rounded versions of themselves through their friendship. Full of all the humor and sarcasm you expect and love from a Lily Morton book, this standalone is one of my favorite books of Lily’s because the story truly is so beautiful and lovely.
