I really enjoy this series, and this book wasn’t exactly bad, it just felt…out of place a duller than what came before. Everyone being separated just wasn’t fun, and adding another character to the roster before we get to really know the one we just got in the last book feels like a bit much to take in. Not to mention Lindon’s advancement felt more handed to him that it ever did, drink some water, eat rancid meat, advance two levels. Also here’s an overpowered mental inhancement for free.

Like I said, it wasn’t a bad read, just the weakest book so far. I did find some characters interesting, like getting know Mercy just a bit more, and the sleepy horned guy who’s name escapes me at the moment. I hear the next book, Underlord, is usually called the best in the series, so I’m looking forward to it.
