With Deacon on a mission to save his cousin, he didnt expect to come across another in need of his aid. Tom was one such soul but once he was rescued, he was quickly sent away.
They cross paths years later and something starts to brew between them. But, what is between them, is forbidden as station, class and man will not allow their joining.
This was a story with many layers to it. You have lovers who have their story built over a span of years, the division of station in life, characters who have their own sub-plots occurring and a plot set in a time in which you wonder how ever will these two men ever get their chance at happiness.
The narration was done extremely well. Each character was discernible and their emotions were brought to life splendidly.
A truly engaging tale to listen to.
