This book made me feel like I was listening to a version of The Equalizer; not the movie, but the T.V. show back in the day. It also felt a bit like Mad Men with the conversations and the era that this whole story took place in.
The action was pretty good in some parts of the book, but others were not as exciting as I wanted them to be. Because the story was written for the 60’s and 70’s, the action was definitely more in line with those years. Had it been updated for today, the action would have been much more violent and creative.
The narrator read the story in a way that made me feel like I’m watching/listening to the cast of Mad Men. I wasn’t expecting it, so it was a nice touch.
I can say that I would recommend this book out to some people based on their taste for the 70’s style of action.
