I genuinely enjoyed the first 3 books in Rich Baker’s Zed’s World series, so I am a bit sad to say I found this one to be a bit disappointing. There was nothing majorly wrong with the book, other than it felt like almost nothing happened for the vast majority of it. Most of it felt very much like those countless filler episodes from The Walking Dead where there are moments of action but other than that very little happens. The lack of action wouldn’t bother me if there was still something interesting happening, such as some real character development, but sadly that isn’t the case. Not sure how to phrase it other than to say the story felt small. The slow journey toward the battle at the end just doesn’t feel worth the hours of buildup. On the plus side, Andrew Wehrlen’s narration is rock solid as always. I was given a free review copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
