The length of the missions feels like episodes of a space TV show or anime. It felts very much like my favorite anime, Outlaw Star. In the end, I wasn’t surprised to hear that this was written to be the answer to the end of Firefly/Serenity. If you’ve not seen them, I’d recommend watching them in addition to reading this book. Other similar TV shows are The Expanse and Cowboy Bebop.

Basically, this book follows a space ship crew who take whatever questionable job that comes along in a universe fill of both Advanced Technology and Magic welding wizards. The crew is very memorable and delightfully performed by Mikael Naramore. Each character has a unique and distinct voice. The missions are very well written and will touch you at an emotional level. A few times, the crew’s bickering is a bit annoying and makes me want to yell at them to grow up and get their shit together, but other times, make me laugh out loud at the crew’s actions.

TLDR: If you like Space Cowboys such as Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bebop, The Expanse, and Firefly/Serenity, then you’ll love this book too.
