While I’m not a fan of harem novels, this is the exception. The female characters aren’t absurd caricatures who seem like extensions of a ridiculous macho man’s ego; instead, they are real characters. While sexuality and romance are on the table, it is much more like what you’d see in a non-hentai harem anime or light novel with a lot of jokes and nothing sordid or embarrassing happening on the page.

I’d have happily given this five stars, but it felt like the first act of a full novel to me. Nothing got resolved. It is a lovely first act and an introduction to what I hope will be a great series.
