Fun characters, good writing, and cool battles! I really enjoyed this book, and the overall quality stood out to me among my many listens. Bits of LitRPG are mixed in, in a quite clever way, but the numbers are kept sparse, which fit well. It could use a bit more worldbuilding and filling in of the culture, but I’m hopeful to see that in future books. The book kept moving and action flowing, so I didn’t mind my unsatiated curiosity too much.
A tempting ending that absolutely leaves me wanting more, while not being a cliffhanger- much appreciated! Hopefully book 2 is on its way.
