How can a story about a magical world with endless possibilities become tedious and preachy?

Turn it into a drag queen story hour, only with the most stereotypical presentation possible. I advanced through whole chapters because it was so cringeworthy. The story was 100 percent predictable. Seriously, I guessed exactly what would happen with that story line.

My other problem is that there are too many characters and the effort it takes to advance is minimal. There is no real grind, and everything required just conveniently drops into the delver’s laps. You can clearly identify the red shirts on the team before they set off on the big mission.

I can’t recommend this book unless trite, cliche and predictable are how you like your novels.
