I knew that this would be a TEOTWAWKI type story, but had not read any of Ryan Schow’s work before. I was surprised at some of the situations, but they were all something that needed to be survived by the main characters, and they did. But how and who does what was quite unexpected. Then I started to “know” the characters and the horrible stuff they have happening to and around them. More and more I was lead into the story and more and more I stared to know the people, not just as characters in a book. The twist of some drones in the story was really a new level of SHTF and really gives another aspect to an already interesting story. Kevin did a great job, as usual. He brought all the excitement, action, pain, longing, love, and individual characteristics of the cast of characters to life. He does it so well, the characters become real and you forget that you are not listening to each of them.
I highly recommend getting this and enjoying it.
