Mystery, thrill, love…Blair McDowell drew me in from the very beginning and held me there throughout the story. Her ability to develop the characters (the good ones and the really bad ones) is paramount to the story. She also does a wonderful job of describing the world the characters live in. From the start to the finish, the author does a wonderful job of bringing it all together.
I listened to the audiobook version of the story and, although I have nothing negative to say about Beverley Murray’s work, the fact that the author chose a narrator with a British accent to narrate threw me off there for a while. I kept wondering if they were in Berkeley, Ca or if they were in the UK in a city with the same name. Also, usually, the narrator uses character voices for different people, and she did not. Beverley Murray did a wonderful job of narrating the story having done it her own way.
