I know I’m late to the Nathan Lowell fan club but I just have to write a brief note to acknowledge what an amazingly interesting novel Quarter Share is. Ishmael is orphaned and evicted from his home and planet when his mother dies in an accident. He shows such perseverance and determination to survive and manages to get a job on a space freighter on the lowest pay scale doing the most basic of jobs, working in the kitchen. Ishmael is intelligent, responsible, ambitious, and makes a great cup of coffee. The other people he becomes friends with on the ship are interesting in their own right. A lot of the book describes human interactions that are “normal”, genuine, realistic. This book hooked me from the get go, and I immediately bought all the Solar Clipper series on Audible’s Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale. I am so happy to have found well written and intellectually interesting science fiction saga.

Narrator did a fine job, no complaints.
