If you have read/listened to LitRPG books before, then you know the basic idea behind the genre. Many litrpg books suffer from the rpg aspect not making any sense. No real explanation given for why there are levels/skills/screens etc. It’s generally just glossed over as ‘that’s how it’s always been’ etc.
This series does the best job of providing a believable explanation for it.
At the same time it presents an excellent story that is both intricate, bizarre, exciting, and at times, funny. I feel comfortable in saying it’s the best LitRPG series currently out there. Mind you, this book is not high literature, you are not going to put it on a list with Game of Thrones, or Name of the Wind. BUT, it is quite good, and if you at all like LitRPG books, then this series is for you.
Also the narrator.. wow. Really really good.
