Spencer has made a successful business by acting like the perfect boyfriend in order to make his client’s ex feel jealous. He’s good at his job, and he’s good at getting results. It’s the perfect job for a man who has no desire to get too close to anyone. The last thing Spencer expects is to actually fall in love with a client, but Spencer can’t help himself when it comes to Andrew, his newest client.
N.R. Walker takes the fake boyfriend trope and created a beautiful and sweet story that melted my heart. The book is a fast read, but it didn’t feel rushed. I fell deeply in love with both Spencer and Andrew, and enjoyed watching their relationship bloom and grow. This story has some mild angst, but it’s very well balanced by cuteness and sweetness. It’s a little predictable, but honestly, that was okay, because this book was about the journey to love. This was an easy 5 star read for me.
The audiobook was narrated by Joel Leslie, and it was just as wonderful as the book. I fell in love with the characters all over again, and enjoyed the performance Joel Leslie gave.
