Although this story sets up future books in this series, this storyline is fully concluded in this book. There are so many unlikely coincidences in this story that it requires a bit of suspension of disbelief, as does the anthropomorphism. Beyond that, it’s fairly typical post-apocalyptic fiction with compelling characters which Kevin Pierce performs with his customary excellence.
