The absolute desperation at which the author attempted to insert the word “star” into every other sentence was painful to listen to. There is no romance, which is fine but don’t advertise this as anything even remotely romantic or having any sort of romance because it doesn’t. The world the author is trying to build could be fantastic, and maybe it eventually will all make sense and the worlds will make sense and this will be the terrible first book to a lovely series but very little of this makes sense, the banter is forced and the writing clunky. I could not even finish it.
