Alec chases a perp that changes his life forever. as the man dies in his arms he mumbles some mysterious words. Another of the men there turn to dust and there is a wooden bullet in it. At the station things get stranger. A handsome man pops in, grabs Alec and they disappear and magically appear in a swanky New York City Condo. To make things stranger Alec wasn’t afraid and he even knew that the man was Cronin and that he was supposed to go with him. Things get more mysterious from there as he meets Cronin’s friends, the council of vampires and try to figure out the Key to stop the Vampire Queen from bringing old dangerous vampires to life to wipe out the good ones and save the world.
Sound exciting? It is!
I absolutely loved all of the characters. The storyline was so good you didn’t want to stop once you started. Even though Alec and Cronin are destined mates it wasn’t a ‘oh please turn me and make me yours’ thing… They took their time and it was a nice slow burn. there are some sexy times and a bit of humor woven to break the tension.
Joel Leslie is a favorite narrator of mine. I know when I pick up audio he narrates I can expect great vices with plenty of good accents where needed. Cronin’s Scottish brogue is spot on and Igi’s Japanese one is as we. You can easily tell the character apart. The pacing is good and the excitement shows in his voice.
I highly recommend this audio if you love police detectives, vampire stories and an allover great story to listen to make your chores or time in the car go faster.
