A good story draws us into a world of our imagination where we feel part of the story itself. A good storyteller solicits our emotions as the story unfolds. While there are parts of the story that anyone could question the validity of the events described, the overall story provokes much thought. Living in eastern North Carolina and working for over 10 years in the Houston, Baytown, and Port Arthur areas, the story setting becomes extremely familiar. The story is more about the self-centeredness of humanity and how trusting society is of those in authority. However, some risk everything for what they feel is just.
I write this review, having listened to these three books twice. The story was just as tear-shedding as it was the first time.
