Maverik, Book
Of the TinStar K-9 series by Jodi Burnett, is as enthralling as book 1 Renegade . The characters are well-developed and relatable. So real in fact, I find myself yelling at the characters when they perform in a manner I don’t like – especially when Caitlin Reed refuses to admit how much she still loves Colt the sheriff and her boss.
The action in this book is fast-paced. The clues and evidence constantly being shuffled around like a deck of cards! it is a great technique for keeping a reader on their toes! I kept guessing “whodunit” till the very last word!
The narration was well done. The narrators voice was clear and crisp with the right speed to match the audience response. I find the voice of Caitlin to be a little abrasive, too young for the adult being portrayed. it is not quite fingernails on a chalkboard- not quite but close!
Overall, a good listen that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the last word is uttered!
